As a trainee, you will be eligible for a government loan to cover the cost of tuition fees, exactly the same as those choosing a University based route. You may be eligible for other financial entitlements depending on your circumstances such as if you are a parent or have an adult dependent.
The tuition fees set for 2024-25 have been set at £9250 which is set by the DfE.
We recognise that some students will be under financial constraint. Therefore, we offer, free of charge health and DBS checks.
We provide job application training which includes CV and interview sessions to help improve your ECT role opportunities.
"Trainees and former trainees demonstrate strong professional and personal attributes that make them greatly sought after by schools. As a result, employment rates are continuously high. "Ofsted 2016
" I always have great expectations before reading an application from a Leicestershire and Leicester SCITT Trainee as a consequence of employing so many truly outstanding ECTs over the years. Strong subject knowledge, a thirst for development, team players and a resilience to meet the pressures of the job; there is naturally always a risk when appointing any new member of staff but I have never been let down. "Martin Fitzwilliam - Director of Performance & Standards (Primary Specialist) St Thomas Aquinas Catholic Multi-Academy Trust and former Executive Head at Christ the King Catholic Voluntary Academy.
