We work with a large number of schools in Leicester City and Leicestershire. You will complete three placements over the PGCE year and we strive to place your in three contrasting schools to ensure that you a range of experiences. This is really helpful for you to gauge which kind of school setting might suit you best when looking for your ECT role.
You may also have heard of School Direct - this is something you can apply to through the SCITT.
School Direct is a school-led route into teacher training resulting in Qualified Teacher Status. We work in partnership with five School Direct Partners.
Trainees on School Direct programmes, accredited by the SCITT, will benefit from training alongside SCITT trainees on identical programmes. The only difference being that two of their teaching placements will be provided by their School Direct choice. For example, if you choose TMET, two of your placements will be in a school that is part of that Educational Trust. In the case of Ash Field Academy, School Direct trainees this means the second placement will normally be in a Special School.
